Five Estuaries launches virtual and live public information events
Five Estuaries Offshore Wind Farm, the extension project of the existing Galloper Offshore Wind Farm, has today (Thursday 30 June 2022) launched a 6-week virtual online public exhibition and announced two live events in mid-July 2022 at venues close to the proposed infrastructure.
The online platform and the live events will provide the community with the opportunity to find out more about the proposed development, to ask any questions and to feed into the design evolution.
From 30 June 2022, information on the proposed offshore wind farm and our emerging proposals will be available to view at www.fiveesturaries.co.uk and that platform will remain online until midnight on 12 August 2022.
Two live events will enable residents to view the same information that is published online. At the live events, the Five Estuaries’ team will be on hand to answer questions and to listen to what residents have to tell us. We welcome all members of the community to drop into an event and talk to us.
Wednesday 13 July 2022, 3.00pm – 8.00pm
St Mary’s Parish Church Hall, Old Road, Frinton-on-Sea
Thursday 14 July 2022, 2.00pm – 8.00pm
Ogilvie Hall, Wignall Street, Lawford
Online, and at the live events, there will be information about the proposed development including the potential grid connection, offshore and onshore environmental assessment process and associated surveys, a development timeline and the next steps. We would like to hear from local residents and businesses and for them to provide feedback. There are opportunities to provide this feedback online, via post and in-person.
A newsletter outlining the public exhibition dates and including information about the proposed development has been sent to over 14,000 residences.
The Five Estuaries Offshore Wind Farm is currently at a relatively early stage of development and it is anticipated that the project, if approved through the relevant consenting process, will become operational around 2030.
