JOBS

Jobs are created during the entire life cycle of an offshore wind farm, from its development and design, through to construction and longer-term operation and maintenance.

In relation to Galloper, the £1.5 billion sister project of Five Estuaries, around 700 jobs were created during its construction and a 60 strong-team operate and maintain the Wind Farm on a day to day basis from Harwich International Port.

Operation and maintenance jobs are often highly valued, with the potential to be long term and in the project’s locality.

COMMUNITY

Our community funds are all about enabling local people to solve problems and make life enhancing improvements to their local area.

Every community has different needs and ambitions, so it makes sense for our funds to be flexible and accessible and for us to listen to communities on how to make the most of them.

Further news about the community benefits package associated with the Five Estuaries Offshore Wind Farm will be shared as the project progresses.

RWE is leading the development of the Five Estuaries project on behalf of the project partners and has an excellent track record in delivering community benefit schemes.

SUPPLY CHAIN

At RWE we aim to be one of the most cost-competitive offshore wind developers globally, seeking best value in all aspects of delivery. The UK supply chain has an integral role to play in shaping the future of our offshore wind industry both here and abroad as we seek to share our expertise.

We know our UK offshore wind farms can act as a catalyst for the UK supply chain. Skills, economic growth and the development, construction and maintenance of our offshore wind farms represent important opportunities for the supply chain across the entire project lifecycle.

We’re already working hard to make sure those opportunities are visible to the UK supply chain supply chain, working closely with Local Enterprise Partnerships, industry bodies, membership organisations and local authorities. We also work closely with establishments including schools, colleges, Universities, STEM providers and Job Centre Plus.
